Our firm's real estate litigation encompasses complex issues before various state and city administrative agencies that regulate property and housing such as the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal (DHCR), the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), the New York City Board of Standards and Appeals (BSA) and the New York State Division of Human Rights (DHR), among others. We also represent clients in appeals to the courts. Some of the matters we address include demolition applications, luxury deregulation, major capital improvement (MCI) rent increase applications, hardship applications, rent overcharge and service complaints.

We handle landlord/tenant disputes encompassing commercial and residential holdover proceedings on issues including options to renew, illegal subletting, non-primary residence, owner occupancy and succession. We also represent owners and tenants in commercial nonpayment proceedings and contract and lease disputes in the New York Supreme Court, Civil Court and all appellate courts.

Our expertise in real estate transactions, tax and regulatory matters permits us to assess, as part of our litigation strategy, the ramifications of a course of action and to develop creative solutions to problems while seeking to negotiate favorable resolutions on behalf of our clients. Whenever we engage in litigation on behalf of our clients, we do so in a manner that is cost-effective and tailored to the particular client's legal and business needs.
